Hello Friends!
My goodness I have not been on the blogging scene lately.
I have been very busy though and thought I would share my shabby kitchen redo.
Here it is "after"......
Here is the before. I have to thank so many bloggers for being so inspirational to me. I have wanted a "white" kitchen for several years now. Some of the few that especially inspired me were....
The three blogs that really inspired me were...
They all had that pop of turquoise that I loved.
Now for the "before". It wasn't that it was a "bad" kitchen. I did love it at one time, I was just ready for a change.
I am so loving my white kitchen now!
I love having the pop of color with the turquoise on the island.
My husband cut out the centers of two sets of cabinets so I could add chicken wire for more of a farmhouse feel.
Tracey from French Larkspur made a centerpiece for her table which I shamelessly copied, she was gracious enough to say it was ok. Thank you for the inspiration, Tracey!
I knew this vintage and shabby turquoise scale would be perfect in my newly painted kitchen.
More vintage goodies in the corner.
I started to distress the cabinets, I haven't finished this part yet.
I hope you have enjoyed my new kitchen. I still plan on adding some knobs and a chandelier over the sink.
I did use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White and for the island I mixed that with a turquoise chalk paint (I am unsure of the name).
I will be sharing my shabby French Christmas decorations soon!
Happiest of Holidays to you.

I had to go refill my ice tea so I could ooh and ahh over your beautiful kitchen. This would be my dream kitchen! I love everything about it. The color of the aqua looks so amazing with the white. Your old scale is so pretty with it and love that crown. The chandelier is gorgeous and I can't wait to see what you put above the sink. Please do show us. You did such a great job! I hope you spend many happy hours cooking in that kitchen.
ReplyDeleteBeing surrounded with colors we like is a very important thing. I thought of doing a traditional white kitchen if we had continued to design and build houses--Gina misses hers with the red accents. I loved my final Wyoming kitchen with the deep green stain on the island cabinetry and the dark red on the beadboard--first thing the new owners did was paint the walls a Mexican terra cotta orange---eeeergh!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, you!
Your kitchen redo is absolutely wonderful, and has given me the inspiration to finally paint my own cabinets. It always amazes me how something as simple as paint can transform an entire room. Thanks so much for sharing - it was the perfect post I needed.
ReplyDeleteI'm so dearly in love iwth your decor! It has the most vintage feel to it. Please, keep posting more!

Your kitchen turned out beautiful! I love the turquoise island- it is just the pop that makes it perfect. Well done! I'm not sure what part of Colorado you are in, but if you know of any cute vintage / gift shops around your area, could you let me know? I have a friend who just moved to Broomfield, and she is wanting some fun places to check out. :) Thanks!! Merry Christmas!
