My back patio

Hello friends!
I wanted to show you my back patio, I wish you could come for tea! (or coffee :) )

I love my crown tea and coffee sets, so fun.

I love flowers and feeding the birds. That is nesting materials if you are wondering what is in that round basket.
The Mountain Chickadee loved it for her nest this year.

My favorite patio seating area.

Looking from the side yard back at the patio.

My arbor..I've planted climbing roses but they will take some time to grow over the top.
This leads to a bike path and our private neighborhood pool.
My favorite Peonies are in full bloom on either side.

A beautiful butterfly enjoying my flowers. I don't know my butterflies as well as I know my birds.
Does anyone know is this a Monarch? I thought they were more orange. Shameful I don't know.

The Lesser Goldfinch (black backed).

My favorite...The American Goldfinch!
And the Lesser feeding under him.
I have fed them for one year with no luck and finally this year.. they came!
I love to hear them sing and chatter while I am sitting out back.

My chippy and white cart. I love it!

I hope you enjoyed my back yard tour!
Happy summer!

~Shanon

I will be linking up tomorrow with Pink Postcard.

  2. Seriously beautiful Shanon. Love your garden, and the way you set up the tea/coffee on the patio. And I adore your rustic fencing - pretty sure I've admired that before. Love it all.

  3. Shan, your visiting butterfly is a Tiger Swallowtail--check it out on widipedia.
Your back yard and patio look very inviting. I'm guessing that mornings there are quite cool all summer. I used to wear a hoodie even in July in WY when I took my morning coffee outdoors.
Don't you wish peonies had a longer season--they are so lovely!

I flipped when I saw your birdhouse garden. I might just have to borrow that idea. :) Nice to meet you and I am your newest follower. xo,

  13. I love all the bursts of color on your patio! We don't get enough sun for many flowers, so I enjoy seeing yours. I also like the crown and tea set.

  14. Absolutely beautiful! I live in a desert country so miss the green green grass of home and all the blooms. You live in a lovely area. The plus is being so close to a bike path. Just wonderful! It is well above 110 here every day so no outdoor activities during the day. :/ Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy

  16. Beautiful blog! I also am visiting via Cozy Little House. Your butterfly is the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. We have had just a few Monarchs showing up, but I can't wait until they flood the area fluttering from flower to flower.

  18. You've created a beautiful and peaceful setting for yourself!
And how lucky for you to be visited by a swallowtail. But it makes sense. If I were a butterfly, I'd make this patio my permanent residence.
