Apple crisp and cake stand makeover

Hello friends!
It's finally that time of year, when I feel like baking yummy things.
Makes the house smell so good.
My family waits for the treats to come out of the oven, you would think I never feed them.
I found this ruffly pie dish at Williams-Sonoma, I couldn't wait to make something fun in it!
Apple crisp was just the thing to bake.

I prefer to double the topping, yummy!

It was sooo good.

I also decided to paint this cake stand. I never use it because it was silver and never seemed quite right.
Then I had an ah-ha moment when I saw this candelabra makeover at Cozy Home Scenes. You can see her makeover here.
I wish mine was like that, I love her candelabra!

I painted it white, I didn't even distress it and I love how it turned out.

I love all the little crystals hanging from it.

So easy to do and it fits in with all of my "sparkle" items I love!

  1. I don't know why that company doesn't sell their pieces in a distressed or white finish because they are so much prettier that way instead of the silver tone. Thanks for thinking of me when redoing yours. I love the cake stand too, but love anything with crystals.

Your apple crisp looks yummy! If you've got some vanilla ice cream to go with it, I'll be right over to share it with you!

  2. I like it, I like it! Great idea to just paint the cake stand. Don't you wonder sometimes why we don't think of things sooner? But the timing is always right, isn't it. Very pretty, and the apple crisp looks yummy. Will you be sharing your recipe?

  8. Wow it turned out great! It is soooooo much better white! I have some opulent treasure things I have painted white too! Did you find yours at HomeGoods? That's where I find them, and its funny the post you linked up too was the post the inspired me to paint one of mine too! opulent treasures actually dose manufacture some of their stuff in white, they actually make a very similar but a little different version of that cake stand in white, but for some reason they are so hard to find in white, I have seen the white products on the website but only one thing one time in the store, It's easier to buy the gold and silver ones and paint them, then find the white ones! I don't get why seems like everyone should want white to me! lol. My mother actually got the larger size of the similar opulent treasure cake stand in white at Goodwill for 3.99! I was so jealous.
