Hello friends!
I was busy this last weekend making fun stuff.

The first thing I made were some shabby French tea towels.
White muslin, edges left frayed with a bit of ruffle at the bottom.
I used my stamps to put the French postcard, Eiffel Tower and Fleur De Lis on.

I love how they turned out, I had made some for my sister's birthday and wanted some for my own, too.

The next thing on my list was to paint this vintage milk jug.
I really loved the rusty but decided it was time to paint it white.
My 10 year old, Taela, wanted to paint it (yay!) and she did a great job.

I knew I wanted to add something to this and I knew just the blog that had it.
Laurie had painted some pots and put images on by using her printer and mod podge.
It worked out great and I love it.
You can visit her blog and find out how to do it and then browse around a little longer because she always comes up with the best ideas.

Taela painting. Notice the cat tail coming off the back of her. She wishes she could either fly or become a cat.
She walks around the house on her hands and knees, meowing and hissing, the cats even get out of her way when she hisses!
She and her sister play cats all the time.
Notice the cat on the back of the couch, we have two!
Sorry, back to the subject on hand.

I chose an image from The Graphics Fairy, if you need an image, she has it.

I love it! It really added the look I was searching for.
I may have to "over do" it and do some of my stamps, too.
Maybe a crown?
Eiffel Tower?
The possibilities are endless!

Doesn't it look great with my faux flowers? Now if only I could get those walls painted a creamy white.
It's on the to-do list!

I also did another image on the back, in case I get sick of the front, I can just reverse it!

  8. I have to admit when you showed the jug and said you were painting it, I got scared because it was pretty before. However, I really like it white with the French look.

Personally, I think another graphic would be too much. I like it like it is now. I think a tassel hanging from the neck of the jug would add a little interest, which I think you are going for, but wouldn't distract from the image already on it.

How cute that you have a DIY-er in training!
