Dreaming of Spring....

Hello friends!
I'm dreaming of Spring....in a bad way.
We've had a mild winter but that doesn't make my yearning any less.

I changed my dining room sideboard for Spring.
See my poor daughter in the reflection? She broke her arm and has had a whole bunch of things go wrong since then. She is at home sick today.

I love this little birdhouse filled with faux eggs for Easter.

Another birdhouse I love.

I got this "garden" pot from Michaels. I am using a few of them in my craft room for storage.
Wire cake stand is from Target years ago.
The bird houses are from The Barn, my favorite place to shop!

My pink carnations are still going, it's been over two weeks since I purchased them! Maybe even three weeks!

My backyard looks like this.......

Last summer it looked like this!
Oh! I can hardly wait for this again!
Sorry so grainy, I took it from old blog photos, my computer is new so I would have to get the original from my old one and no time for that!
You can see my original post here.

My front porch looks like this now......

Last summer it looked like this....again, sorry so grainy.
You can see the original post here.

Side view today....

I added this tray to my badly peeling wicker (I love it's chippiness!). My husband put these two bottles of Salt Lake Water here, once the water evaporates there will be salt crystals left. We gathered it last summer and it's only evaporated two inches worth!

I love this chippy, green table.

I added some things from inside, including this custom made table from my husband's friend.

My turquoise pots are waiting for flowers.

Oh, how I love to drink coffee in the morning here. It faces East so the sun is so warm on the chilly spring mornings.

My faux chandy I made last year.

Spring is just around the corner!
Have a great week!

  2. Oh Shanon!

First off, I am so sorry your little girl is home sick, and dealing with a broken arm too. May she be blessed with good health and a fast recovery soon.

Second, love all your awesome spring vignettes - they are GREAT!

I adored your "compares" outdoors with the dead versus the blooming - was a true testiment to spring/summer WILL come, and faster than we believe right now. You have a beautiful yard and garden and patio and porch - I would love having my morning coffee in that place, too, most definately!

You have a gorgeous home, it is so beautiful.

    Love your blog.

I love all of your lovely birdhouses, especially the one with vintage paper on it.
I'm so sorry about your poor daughter, I hope things get better and that her arm will start to heal soon! I know how hard it is at that age to have a cast!
Hope you have a beautiful night and thank you so much for all of your lovely comments that you always leave on my blog, I really do appreciate them!!
    Sincerely,

  9. It looks like spring has sprung where you live. I am dreaming of some warm sunny days. Maybe we'll see some in April. I walk outside in my winter coat, the wind nipping at my cheeks and count the tulips as they start showing their little sprouts. "Come on sweet things", I am so into encouraging them and spring weather to show it's face. Your front porch is so charming and the little birdhouses are a delight. I am glad that I came across your blog it brighten my day. Come visit, your new fan and fellow blogger, Connie

  13. My brother once had both of his arms broken at the same time, so I know how miserable your daughter is. I hope her arm heals quickly and correctly. No fun to be sick on top of that. :(

If my porch looked as pretty as yours, I'd be anxious for spring to redo it too! I love those wicker pieces and the pretty floral cushions you have. The birdhouse you have in the house is very nice too!

Thanks for taking the time to link up to my party this week. I'm always happy when friends can drop by. Hope your and your daughter's week improved from here on out.

Oh your backyard is just gorgeous!!! Actually, your whole entire house is just lovely! :) It's very "Spring" over here!!! Never snows where I'm at, so I'm kind of envious of your colder weather....maybe we can "trade seasons" for a week! lol Well spring will be here before you know it, and you can enjoy your beautiful garden again! Oh and your carnations are so pretty - love how they can last for sooo long! :) Take care and enjoy your weekend!
